Description of the Global Network for Early Years Bookgifting
We are a global network of early years bookgifting programs providing free books and reading guidance to promote shared reading. Through our work we support the powerful cognitive, emotional and social benefits of shared reading, and the positive impact on the health and wellbeing of children. Bookgifting has been proven to be the most impactful and cost-effective tool for supporting early language development. The network recognizes the value of sharing experience as peers – to foster innovation, excellence and resilience. The goal of the network is to strengthen existing programs and support new and emerging programs. We do this through online theme-based meetings and by sharing research and resources. The Network is a global advocate for shared reading in the early years, and for every child’s right to read.
